Dear Colleague,

As Director of Leadership Sea to Sky, and Member of the Board of the Canadian Community Leadership Network, I invite you to a Forum for Leaders of Canadian Leadership Programs here in Whistler at the Edgewater Lodge , June 7 and 8, 2009. The theme for this gathering is "Leadership for Community, Civil Society and the Future of Canada".

 This is a Forum for up to 25 of us involved in shaping and delivering leadership development in Canada. With your participation in this Forum our goals are to:

a) exchange information and experiences about our leadership development programs,
b) explore areas of potential collaboration and partnerships,
c) develop recommendations/ next steps for strengthening leadership in community and civil society across Canada.

We will begin at 1:30 pm on Sunday June 7 and finish at 4 pm on Monday June 8. This is just at the end of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Conference in Whistler May 31 to June 7. It will be an ideal time to connect in with the 3,000 elected officials and community leaders from municipalities across Canada. We are very pleased that Brock Carlton, the CEO of FCM will be with us for the Monday afternoon session.

We are also pleased that Monica Patten, President and CEO of the Community Foundations of Canada will be with us and begin our deliberations on Sunday with her thoughts on our theme and the three goals.

Other confirmed participants now are: Colin Funk from the Banff Centre; Alison Meredith from Royal Roads University; David Holtzman from the Canadian Council on Learning; Ed Kamps from the Canadian Community Leadership Network; Stepehen Huddart from the McConnell Foundation; Mitchell Temkin from Leadership Victoria; Sheldon Tetreault from the National Centre for First Nations Governance; Bob Ness from International Leadership Association Seattle; Ian Anderson form teh Governor General Leadership COnference; Ruth Mali from Leadership BC.

To cover the costs of accommodation, meals and hosting this Forum the fee is $350. Below is the Registration Form that we ask you to complete and return as soon as possible. I will be in contact with everyone as we finalize the agenda and other details related to the Forum.
